Swatch and Review - Sleek Makeup Palettes

I had heard a lot about this brand called Sleek Makeup and after watching a few videos of the colors in action, I wanted a few of their palettes.  Sadly, I couldn't purchase one of the ones I wanted from the website, so I turned to Ebay.  Of course, lots of people on Ebay sell Sleek Makeup and after deciding on the two palettes I wanted I purchased them for pretty cheap (less than $20 each with shipping).  They both got here pretty quickly, however one of the colors in one of my palettes was obliterated.  The woes of getting makeup shipped.  Other than that, I'm happy with my purchase for the most part.  Here are my palettes:

Sleek Makeup Acid Palette

I was sooooo excited to get this palette because of the super bright colors.  I had been looking for a palette that had blingy, in your face colors for a while.  Most of the colors are matte, some has a satin sheen to them.  The neon colors aren't as bright as I thought they would be once I got them on my skin.  I'm sure they're brighter with a base though.  But...extra +++, some of the colors glow under a blacklight!!!  Now I can't wait for the Deadmau5 concert I'm going to in September!!!!

Here are the colors under a blacklight...the glowing ones are neon yellow, orange, pink, and green

Sleek Makeup Bad Girl Palette

Love all the sexy darks.  All of the colors have a satin sheen to them except the black, it's matte.  All are very pigmented and gorgeous.  One of my highlight colors was damaged in the shipping process, but it didn't effect my other colors and I have many more off white highlight colors around so no biggie.

LOTD's with these palettes soon!

It's A Bird...

This look is fun! It reminds me of a Canary for some reason. I saw a pic of a girl with similar makeup, loved it, and wanted to see if I could do it. I think it came out pretty cute! I used MUFE’s yellow, white, light cream, and black eyeshadow, NYX’s jumbo eye pencil in Milk, Lorac’s eyeliner pen in Black, and mascara.

BTM - Selita Ebanks

I was able to meet and do makeup for the supermodel Miss Selita Ebanks the other day.  Goes on my list of exciting days of my life :)  I've always loved her and she's so beautiful, inside and out.  Such a sweet girl!  Anywho, she was in Phoenix to help kick off the PepsiMax, MLB "Field of Dreams" contest.  Her reps contacted me about doing her makeup and I jumped at the chance!  She didn't need much, she's naturally very pretty, so I just wanted to make her eyes pop!

MAC Semi Precious Collection - Dark Indulgence Eyeshadow

I've done a lot of shopping at MAC in the past few weeks (too much) and I'd been waiting for this collection to come out.  The eyeshadows and blushes looked divine!  When it finally hit the stores, I rushed over to play with all the colors.  As it turns out, the only eyeshadow I had to have was Dark Indulgence (dark jade green) and the only blush was Warmth of Coral.  I liked the lip colors too, but I already had some like them.  The eyeshadows all looked gorgeous in the pot, but not so much on the skin.  The blushes and skin finishes were all beautiful, but they looked a little ashy on my skin tone.  I'd been looking for a great coral blush and found it with this collection.  I love it!  Anyway, here's an LOTD using the Dark Indulgence eyeshadow and Warmth of Coral blush. It makes a great smokey eye!

BTM - Photoshoot with Mark and Erica

I did a candy/glitter themed shoot a few weeks ago with Mark Sachet and Erica Little.  I had been looking to do something bright, fun, and colorful for a while, so when they called I jumped on it.  Here's some of my faves from the shoot and how I created the look:

For the candy design on Erica's face I used adhesive backed scrapbooking decals.  I placed Elmer's glue over the rhinestones, sprinkled on the nonpareils, and let them dry overnight.  To be honest, I didn't think this was going to work, but I was super excited when it did and it stayed beautifully!

For the first look, I used Temptu's S/B airbrush foundation in #3, #6 for contour, and #45 and #46 mixed for blush.  I used a bright pink eyeshadow and bright purple eyeshadow (both from urban decay), MAC's fluidline for eyeliner, and NARS lip color in Funny Face.  Then I just cut apart the decals I made and placed them where I wanted on her face.

For the second look, I used the same base, MAC's eyeshadow in Dazzlelight, MAC's fluidline, MUFE's eyeshadow in 04, NYX's jumbo eye pencil in Cottage Cheese, Julie Hewitt's lip color in Femme Noir, pink, hot pink, and red rhinestones glued around her eye with DUO adhesive and red glitter on her lips.

This shoot was really fun, but I felt sorry for Mark's floor.  It was a glittery, tasty mess :)
